حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَوَّامُ بْنُ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ:

أَتَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى وَضَعَ رِجْلَهُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ فَاطِمَةَ، فَعَلَّمَنَا مَا نَقُولُ إِذَا أَخَذْنَا مَضْجَعَنَا: ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ تَسْبِيحَةً، وَثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ تَحْمِيدَةً، وَأَرْبَعًا وَثَلَاثِينَ تَكْبِيرَةً، قَالَ عَلِيٌّ: فَمَا تَرَكْتُهَا بَعْدُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: وَلَا لَيْلَةَ صِفِّينَ ؟ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ: وَلَا لَيْلَةَ صِفِّينَ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us until he placed his foot between me and Fatimah, and he taught us what to say when we went to bed: thirty-three glorifications (tasbihat), thirty-three praises (tahmidat), and thirty-four declarations of greatness (takbirat). Ali said: "I have never left them since." A man said to him: "Not even on the night of Siffin?" Ali said: "Not even on the night of Siffin."
