حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَوَّامُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ

أَتَانَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ حَتَّى وَضَعَ قَدَمَهُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ فَاطِمَةَ، فَعَلَّمَنَا مَا نَقُولُ إِذَا أَخَذْنَا مَضَاجِعَنَا: ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ تَسْبِيحَةً، وَثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ تَحْمِيدَةً، وَأَرْبَعًا وَثَلَاثِينَ تَكْبِيرَةً، قَالَ عَلِيٌّ: فَمَا تَرَكْتُهَا بَعْدُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: وَلَا لَيْلَةَ صِفِّينَ ؟ قَالَ: وَلَا لَيْلَةَ صِفِّينَ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ came to us one night until he placed his foot between me and Fatima, and taught us what to say when we went to bed: thirty-three glorifications, thirty-three praises, and thirty-four magnifications. Ali said: I never abandoned them after that. A man asked him, 'Not even on the night of Siffin?' He said, 'Not even on the night of Siffin.'
