حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ عَنْ هَمَّامٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ
أَنَّ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ صَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ فَسَلَّمَ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَامَ لِيَسْتَلِمَ الرُّكْنَ فَسَبَّحَ بِهِ الْقَوْمُ فَرَجَعَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَةً. قَالَ: فَأَتَيْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ بِذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ: مَا أَمَاطَ عَنْ سُنَّةِ نَبِيِّهِ ﷺ

✧ Ibn al-Zubayr prayed Maghrib and said the salam after two rak'ahs, then he stood up to touch the corner, but the people said subhan Allah to him, so he returned and prayed one more rak'ah. He said: I went to Ibn 'Abbas and informed him of that, and he said: 'He did not deviate from the Sunnah of his Prophet ﷺ.'
