The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the ʿAṣr prayer and gave the salām after three rakʿahs, then went inside. A man called al-Khirbāq stood up to him and said: "O Messenger of Allah," and he mentioned to him what he had done. So he came out angry, dragging his cloak, until he reached the people and said: "Is this man right?" They said: "Yes." He said: So he prayed that rakʿah, then gave the salām, then performed two prostrations, then gave the salām.
