حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، قَالَ:
" صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الظُّهْرَ أَوِ الْعَصْرَ ثَلَاثَ رَكَعَاتٍ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يُقَالُ لَهُ ابْنُ الْخِرْبَاقِ: أَقَصُرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ ؟ "، فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَإِذَا هُوَ كَمَا قَالَ. قَالَ: فَصَلَّى رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ، ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ

✧ "The Messenger of God ﷺ prayed the noon or afternoon prayer as three rak'ahs, then gave the salutation. A man from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ called Ibn al-Khirbaq said, 'Has the prayer been shortened?' So the Prophet ﷺ asked, and it was as he had said. He then prayed one rak'ah, gave the salutation, then prostrated twice, then gave the salutation."
