✧ Moses said: O Lord, our father Adam expelled us and himself from Paradise. So God showed him Adam. He said: Are you Adam? Adam said to him: Yes. He said: Are you the one into whom God breathed of His spirit, and to whom He caused His angels to prostrate, and whom He taught all the names? He said: Yes. He said: Then what led you to expel us and yourself from Paradise? Adam said to him: Who are you? He said: I am Moses. He said: Are you Moses of the Children of Israel, to whom God spoke from behind a veil and did not make between you and Him any messenger from His creation? He said: Yes. He said: Then do you blame me for a matter concerning which God's decree preceded before me? The Messenger of God ﷺ said at that: Adam defeated Moses, Adam defeated Moses.
