حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ جَارِيَةَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ:
مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِمَكَّةَ عَلَى رَجُلٍ يُصَلِّي عَلَى صَخْرَةٍ فَأَتَى نَاحِيَةً فَمَكَثَ مَلِيًّا، ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَوَجَدَ الرَّجُلَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى حَالِهِ، فَقَامَ فَجَمَعَ يَدَيْهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْقَصْدِ، عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْقَصْدِ، فَإِنَّ اللهَ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by in Makkah a man praying on a rock. He went to a side and stayed for a while, then left and found the man still praying in the same state. He stood and clasped his hands, then said: 'O people, keep to moderation, keep to moderation, for Allah does not tire until you tire.'
