حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الْحِمَّانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ غَسِيلٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ يَعْنِي، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ
أَنَّهُ أُصِيبَتْ عَيْنُهُ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ، فَسَالَتْ حَدَقَتُهُ عَلَى وَجْنَتِهِ، فَأَرَادُوا أَنْ يَقْطَعُوهَا فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: لَا، فَدَعَا بِهِ، فَغَمَزَ حَدَقَتَهُ بِرَاحَتِهِ، فَكَانَ لَا يُدْرَى أَيُّ عَيْنَيْهِ أُصِيبَتْ

✧ He was wounded in his eye on the day of Badr, and his eyeball slid down onto his cheek. They wanted to cut it off, so he asked the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: No. Then he called for him and pressed his eyeball back with the palm of his hand, and thereafter one could not tell which of his eyes had been injured.
