حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُسْتَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الشَّاذَكُونِيُّ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ
وَقَتَادَةُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَوَّادِ بْنِ ظَفَرٍ وَاسْمُ ظُفُرٍ كَعْبُ بْنُ الْخَزْرَجِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو وَهُوَ النَّبِيتُ بْنُ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ وَكَانَ قَتَادَةُ يُكَنَّى أَبَا عَمْرٍو وَهُوَ جَدُّ عَاصِمٍ وَيَعْقُوبَ ابْنِيْ عُمَرَ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ وَكَانَ عَاصِمُ بْنُ عُمَرَ مِنَ الْعُلَمَاءِ بِالسِّيَرِ وَغَيْرِهَا

Qatada was given the kunya Abu Amr, and he is the grandfather of Asim and Ya'qub, the two sons of Umar b. Qatada. Asim b. Umar was one of the scholars of siyar and other subjects.
