وَعَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ قَالَ - أُرَاهُ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ - أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - ﷺ

كَانَ إِذَا اكْتَسَى ثَوْبًا سَمَّاهُ بِاسْمِهِ: عِمَامَةٍ أَوْ قَمِيصٍ أَوْ رِدَاءٍ، وَيَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ، أَنْتَ كَسَوْتَنِي، أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِهِ وَخَيْرِ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ

Translation

✧ When he put on a garment, he would name it by its type: turban, shirt, or cloak, and say: "O Allah, praise be to You. You have clothed me. I ask You for its good and the good of what it was made for, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of what it was made for."
