✧ There was no prophet except that he warned his people about the Dajjal, and I warn you about him. He is one-eyed, with a protruding eyeball, and he is not hidden, as if it were a piece of flesh on the side of a wall. His left eye is like a brilliant star. With him is something like Paradise and Hell. His Paradise is a haze with smoke, and his Hell is a green garden. In front of him are two men who warn the people of the villages. Whenever they leave a village, its first people enter, and he is given power over a man whom he is not given power over anyone else. He slaughters him, then strikes him with his staff, then says: 'Arise.' Then he says to his companions: 'What do you think? Am I not your Lord?' They testify to him with polytheism. The slaughtered man says: 'O people, this is the false Messiah about whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ warned us.' Then he returns and slaughters him again, then strikes him with his staff, and says to him: 'Arise.' Then he says to his companions: 'What do you think? Am I not your Lord?' They testify to him with polytheism. The slaughtered man says: 'O people, indeed this is the false Messiah about whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ warned us. This has only increased me in insight about you.' Then he returns and slaughters him a third time, then strikes him with his staff, and says: 'Arise.' Then he says to his companions: 'What do you think? Am I not your Lord?' They testify to him with polytheism. He says: 'O people, indeed this is the false Messiah about whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ warned us. This has only increased me in insight about you.' Then he returns and slaughters him a fourth time, and Allah places a plate of copper on his throat, so he cannot slaughter him." Abu Sa'id said: "By Allah, I did not see copper except on that day." He said: "Then the people plant and cultivate after that." Abu Sa'id said: "We used to think that man was Umar b. al-Khattab because of what we knew of his strength and endurance."
