✧ He entered upon the Messenger of God ﷺ while he was feverish, with a velvet cloak over him. He placed his hand on him and found its heat above the velvet cloak. Abu Sa'id said: How severe is the heat of your fever, O Messenger of God! The Messenger of God ﷺ said: Thus indeed is affliction intensified for us, and our reward is multiplied. We said: O Messenger of God, who among people is most severely tried? He said: "The prophets and then the righteous. One of them would be tried with poverty until he found nothing but a cloak, which he would gather up and wear; and he would be tried with lice until they killed him. One of them would be more joyful at affliction than you are at a gift."
