Sunan Abi Dawud 2091

Regarding Allah's Statement: It Is Not Permitted For You To Inherity Women Against Their Will... And Do Not Prevent Them From Re-Marrying

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ شَبُّويَةَ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ مَوْلَى عُمَرَ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ بِمَعْنَاهُ قَالَ

فَوَعَظَ اللَّهُ ذَلِكَ

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Aḥmad b. Shabbūyah al-Marwazī
  2. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUthmān
  3. ʿĪsá b. ʿUbayd
  4. ʿUbaydullāh a freed slave of ʿUmar
  5. al-Ḍaḥḥāk Bimaʿnāh

The aforesaid tradition has also been transmitted by Al Dahhak to the same effect through a different chain of narrators. This version has Allaah prohibited that (practice).
