عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ
فِي الرَّجُلَيْنِ يُرْهِنَانِ عَلَى الْفَرَسِ، فَيَدْخُلُ مَعَهُمَا آخَرُ بِفَرَسٍ قَالَ: " إِذَا كَانَ لَا يَأْمَنَانِهِ أَنْ يَسْبِقَهُمَا جَمِيعًا فَلَا بَأْسَ بِهِ، وَإِنْ كَانَ يَأْمَنَانِهِ فَهُوَ قِمَارٌ
Translation

✧ About two men who make a bet on a horse, and a third man enters with them with a horse. He said: 'If they do not consider him safe from beating them both, there is no harm in it; but if they consider him safe, then it is gambling.'
