عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ:
سَابَقَ حُذَيْفَةُ النَّاسَ عَلَى فَرَسٍ لَهُ أَشْهَبَ قَالَ: فَسَبَقَهُمْ قَالَ: فَدَخَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ دَارَهُ قَالَ: فَإِذَا هُوَ عَلَى مَعْلَفِهِ، وَهُوَ عَلَى رَمْلَةٍ، يَقْطُرُ عَرَقًا عَلَى شَمْلَةٍ لَهُ، وَحُذَيْفَةُ بْنُ الْيَمَانِ جَالِسٌ عِنْدَهُ عَلَى قَدَمَيْهِ، مَا تَمَسُّ أَلْيَتَاهُ الْأَرْضَ قَالَ: فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَدْخُلُونَ عَلَيْهِ يُهَنِّئُونَهُ وَيَقُولُونَ: لِيَهْنَأْكَ السَّبْقُ قَالَ: فَدَخَلَ رَجُلٌ، وَلَمْ يَقُلْ شَيْئًا فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: أَلَا تُهَنِّئُهُ ؟ قَالَ: بِمَ ؟ قَالَ: سَبَقَ فَرَسُهُ قَالَ: أَخْشَى أَنْ يَبْلُغَ ذَلِكَ الْأَمِيرَ قَالَ: وَعَلَى النَّاسِ يَوْمَئِذٍ سَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ فَقَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ: تَاللهِ لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَلِيَ عَلَيْكُمْ مَنْ لَا يَزِنُ عُشْرَ بَعُوضَةٍ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
Translation
✧ Hudhayfa raced people on a gray horse of his. He said: 'He beat them.' He said: 'We entered his house upon him.' He said: 'There he was at his feeding trough, and he was on a sand dune, dripping sweat onto a cloak of his, with Hudhayfa b. al-Yaman sitting by him at his feet, his buttocks not touching the ground.' He said: 'People began to enter upon him congratulating him and saying: "May the victory be pleasant for you."' He said: 'A man entered and did not say anything, so a man said: "Will you not congratulate him?" He said: "For what?" He said: "His horse won." He said: "I fear that news will reach the commander."' He said: 'At that time Sa'd b. Abi Waqqas was in charge of the people.' Then Hudhayfa said: 'By God, the Hour will not come until over you is appointed a ruler who on the Day of Resurrection will not weigh a tenth of a mosquito.'
