عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ الْهُذَلِيَّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ الْحَسَنَ قَالَ:
سَرَقَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَرَسًا فَدَخَلَ أَرْضَ الرُّومِ، فَرَجَعَ مَعَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ بِهَا فَأَرَادُوا قَطْعَهُ فَقَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ: لَا تَقْطَعُوا حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ مِنْ أَرْضِ الرُّومِ
Translation
✧ A Muslim man stole a horse and entered Byzantine territory, then returned with it among the Muslims. They wanted to amputate his hand, but 'Ali b. Abi Talib said: 'Do not amputate until he leaves Byzantine territory.'
