✧ He Cut the Prayer Short in Seven

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: كَيْفَ أَنْتَ ؟ قَالَ: " إِذَا رَأَيْتُهُ قَدْ خَرَجَ وَأَنَا عِنْدَ الرُّكْنِ لَمْ أَطُفْ قُلْتُ: فَخَرَجَ وَقَدْ خَلَّفْتَ الرُّكْنَ ؟ قَالَ: " إِنْ ظَنَنْتُ أَنِّي مُكْمِلٌ ذَلِكَ الطَّوَافَ مَضَيْتُ فَطُفْتُ وَإِلَّا قَصَرْتُ " قُلْتُ: قَطَعَتِ الصَّلَاةُ بِي سَبْعِي، فَانْصَرَفْتُ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَرْكَعَ قَبْلَ أَنْ أُتِمَّ سَبْعِي ؟ قَالَ: " لَا، أَوْفِ سَبْعَكَ، إِلَّا أَنْ تُمْنَعَ الطَّوَافَ فَصَلِّ إِنْ شِئْتَ، حَتَّى تُتْرَكَ
Translation
Chain of narrators
machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq, from Ibn Jurayj, who said:
✧ I said to Ata': How are you? He said: When I see that it (prayer) has begun and I am at the corner and have not yet circumambulated... I said: Then it begins while you have passed the corner? He said: If I think I can complete that circuit, I continue and circumambulate; otherwise I cut it short. I said: Prayer interrupted my seven, so I finished and wanted to pray two rak'ahs before completing my seven? He said: No, complete your seven, unless you are prevented from circumambulating, then pray if you wish, until you are allowed.
