عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عِيسَى قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ وَهْرَامٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، مِنَ الْأَشْعَرِيِّينَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ:
أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَهُ عَنِ الْحَاجِّ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّ الْحَاجَّ يَشْفَعُ فِي أَرْبَعِمِائَةِ بَيْتٍ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ، وَيُبَارَكُ لَهُ فِي أَرْبَعِينَ مِنْ أُمَّهَاتِ الْبَعِيرِ الَّذِي حَمَلَهُ، وَيَخْرُجُ مِنْ ذُنُوبِهِ كَيَوْمِ وَلَدَتْهُ أُمُّهُ " قَالَ: فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: يَا أَبَا مُوسَى إِنِّي كُنْتُ أُعَالِجُ الْحَجَّ، وَقَدْ ضَعُفْتُ وَكَبِرْتُ، فَهَلْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ يَعْدِلُ الْحَجَّ ؟ قَالَ لَهُ: " هَلْ تَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ تُعْتِقَ سَبْعِينَ رَقَبَةً مُؤْمِنَةً مِنْ وَلَدِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ؟ فَإِمَّا الْحِلُّ وَالرَّحِيلُ فَلَا أَجِدُ لَهُ عِدْلًا - أَوْ قَالَ مِثْلًا - "
Translation
✧ A man asked him about the pilgrim. He said, "The pilgrim intercedes for four hundred households of his people, and he is blessed in forty camels' mothers that carried him, and he emerges from his sins as on the day his mother bore him." He said: A man said to him, "O Abu Musa, I used to perform Hajj regularly, but now I have become weak and old. Is there anything equal to Hajj?" He said to him, "Can you free seventy believing slaves from the descendants of Isma'il? As for the journey and departure, I find no equal for it — or he said, no equivalent."
