✧ What Came Regarding Eating Rabbit

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، مَوْلَى آلِ طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ ابْنُ الْحَوْتَكِيَّةِ، عَنْ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ:
مَنْ حَاضِرُنَا يَوْمَ الْقَاحَةِ إِذْ أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِالْأَرْنَبِ، فَقَالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ: أَنَا، قَالَ: أَتَى أَعْرَابِيٌّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بِأَرْنَبٍ، فَقَالَ: إِنِّي رَأَيْتُهَا تُدْمِي، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " كُلُوهُ " وَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَأْكُلْ، فَقَالَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ، فَقَالَ: " وَمَا صَوْمُكَ ؟ " فَذَكَرَ صَوْمًا، فَقَالَ: أَيْنَ أَنْتَ عَنِ الْبِيضِ الْغُرِّ ثَلَاثَةَ عَشَرَ وَأَرْبَعَةَ عَشَرَ، وَخَمْسَةَ عَشَرَ ؟
Translation
✧ Who among us was present at al-Qaha when the Prophet ﷺ was brought a rabbit? Abu Dharr said: 'I was.' He said: 'A Bedouin brought a rabbit to the Messenger of God ﷺ and said: "I saw it bleeding (menstruating)." The Prophet ﷺ said: "Eat it." He mentioned that he did not eat. The Bedouin said: "I am fasting." He said: "And what is your fast?" He mentioned a certain fast. He said: "Why not the shining white days: the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth?"'
