✧ What Came Regarding Eating Rabbit

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ هَارُونَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:
جَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنِ الْأَرْنَبِ، فَقَالَ: وَمَاذَا يُحَرِّمُهَا ؟ قَالَ: يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّهَا تَطْمَثُ، قَالَ: فَمَا تَطْهُرُ ؟ قَالَ: لَا أَدْرِي، قَالَ: " فَالَّذِي يَعْلَمُ مَتَى طَمِثَتْ يَعْلَمُ مَتَى طُهْرُهَا، فَإِنَّ اللهَ لَمْ يَدَعْ شَيْئًا إِلَّا بَيَّنَهُ لَكُمْ أَنْ تَكُونَ نَسِيَهُ فَمَا قَالَ اللهُ، كَمَا قَالَ اللهُ، وَمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، كَمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، وَمَا لَمْ يَقُلِ اللهُ، وَلَا رَسُولُهُ فَبِعَفْوِ اللهِ، وَبِرَحْمَتِهِ فَدَعُوهُ، وَلَا تَبْحَثُوا عَنْهُ، فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ حَامِلَةٌ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْحَوَامِلِ
Translation
✧ A man came to him and asked him about the rabbit. He said: 'And what forbids it?' He said: 'They claim that it menstruates.' He said: 'Does it not become pure?' He said: 'I do not know.' He said: 'The One who knows when it menstruated knows when it becomes pure. God did not leave anything without clarifying it to you, unless He forgot it. What God has said is as God has said, and what the Messenger of God ﷺ has said is as the Messenger of God ﷺ has said. What neither God nor His Messenger has said is left to God's pardon and mercy, so leave it and do not investigate it. It is merely a pregnant animal among these pregnant animals.'
