عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ السَّعْدِيِّ قَالَ:
سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ أَكْلِ الضَّبُعِ ؟ فَقَالَ: إِنَّ أَكْلَهَا لَا يَصْلُحُ، فَقَالَ شَيْخٌ عِنْدَهُ: إِنْ شِئْتَ حَدَّثْتُكَ مَا سَمِعْتُ مِنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ: إِنَّهُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ كُلِّ ذِي نُهْبَةٍ، وَعَنْ كُلِّ خَطْفَةٍ - يَعْنِي مَا قُطِعَ عَنِ الْحَيِّ - وَعَنْ كُلِّ مُجَثَّمَةٍ، وَعَنْ أَكْلِ كُلِّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنَ السِّبَاعِ "، قَالَ سَعِيدٌ: صَدَقْتَ
Translation
✧ I asked Ibn al-Musayyib about eating hyena, and he said: 'Eating it is not permissible.' A shaykh who was with him said: 'If you wish, I will tell you what I heard from Abu al-Darda'. He said: I heard him say: The Messenger of God ﷺ forbade every animal with a predatory snatch, every snatched morsel — meaning what is cut off from a living animal — every animal that is tied up as a target, and the eating of every fanged beast of prey.' Sa'id said: 'You have spoken the truth.'"
