✧ Game, slaughtering it, and lying in wait for it

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ:
أَمَرَنِي إِنْسَانٌ بِصَيْدٍ فَذَبَحْتُهُ، فَضَحِكَ، وَقَالَ: " حَسْبُكَ، قَدْ غَرِمْتَهُ "، قُلْتُ: ابْتَعْتُ صَيْدًا، وَأَنَا حَرَامٌ، فَلَمْ أَذْبَحْهُ حَتَّى حَلَلْتُ، فَلَمَّا حَلَلْتُ ذَبَحْتُهُ، فَقَالَ: " لَا بَأْسَ " فَقُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: ابْتَعْتُ صَيْدًا وَأَنَا حَلَالٌ، فَلَمْ أَذْبَحْهُ حَتَّى أَحْرَمْتُ، فَقَالَ: " غَرِمْتَهُ ". قَالَ: " وَإِنِ ابْتَعْتَهُ حَرَامًا فَذَبَحْتَهُ حَرَامًا، غَرِمْتَهُ أَيْضًا "، قُلْتُ: ابْتَعْتُ صَيْدًا وَأَنَا حَرَامٌ، فَأَمْسَكْتُهُ عِنْدِي، فَمَاتَ، قَالَ: " إِذًا تَغْرَمُهُ "، قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: ابْتَعْتُهُ، وَأَنَا حَرَامٌ فَأَهْدَيْتُهُ لِقَوْمٍ حَلَالٍ فَذَبَحُوهُ فِي حَرَمِي، قَالَ: " تَغْرَمُهُ "، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: فَلَمْ يَذْبَحُوهُ حَتَّى حَلَلْتُ، قَالَ: " غُرْمُهُ عَلَيْكَ
Translation
✧ A person ordered me to (catch) game, so I slaughtered it. He laughed and said: "That is enough for you; you have incurred liability for it." I said: I bought game while I was in a state of ihram and did not slaughter it until I exited ihram. When I exited ihram, I slaughtered it. He said: "No problem." So I said to Ata: I bought game while I was not in ihram, and I did not slaughter it until I entered ihram. He said: "You incurred liability for it." He said: "And if you bought it while in ihram and slaughtered it while in ihram, you also incurred liability for it." I said: I bought game while in ihram and kept it with me, then it died. He said: "Then you incur liability for it." I said to Ata: I bought it while in ihram and gave it as a gift to people who were not in ihram, and they slaughtered it in my sanctuary (i.e., the Haram). He said: "You incur liability for it." He said: I said: They did not slaughter it until I exited ihram. He said: "Its liability is upon you."
