عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ،
أَنَّ كَعْبَ الْأَحْبَارِ أَقْبَلَ مِنَ الشَّامِ فِي رَكْبٍ مُحْرِمِينَ، حَتَّى إِذَا كَانُوا بِبَعْضِ الطَّرِيقِ، وَجَدُوا لَحْمَ صَيْدٍ، فَأَفْتَاهُمْ كَعْبٌ بِأَكْلِهِ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمُوا عَلَى عُمَرَ ذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: مَنْ أَفْتَاكُمْ بِهَذَا ؟ فَقَالُوا: كَعْبٌ، قَالَ: فَإِنِّي قَدْ أَمَّرْتُهُ عَلَيْكُمْ حَتَّى تَرْجِعُوا، ثُمَّ لَمَّا كَانَ بِبَعْضِ الطَّرِيقِ طَرِيقِ مَكَّةَ مَرَّتْ رِجْلٌ مِنْ جَرَادٍ، فَأَمَرَهُمْ كَعْبٌ أَنْ يَأْخُذُوا فَيَأْكُلُوا، فَلَمَّا قَدِمُوا عَلَى عُمَرَ ذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: مَا حَمَلَكَ عَلَى أَنْ تُفْتِيَهُمْ بِهَذَا ؟ قَالَ: " هُوَ مِنْ صَيْدِ الْبَحْرِ "، قَالَ: وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ ؟ قَالَ: " يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ! وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا نَثْرَةُ حُوتٍ يَنْثُرُهُ فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ مَرَّتَيْنِ "
Translation
✧ Ka'b al-Ahbar came from Syria in a group of people in ihram. When they were on part of the road, they found game meat, and Ka'b ruled for them to eat it. When they came to Umar, they mentioned that to him, and he said, "Who ruled this for you?" They said, "Ka'b." He said, "I have appointed him over you until you return." Then when they were on part of the road to Makkah, a swarm of locusts passed by, and Ka'b ordered them to take and eat. When they came to Umar, they mentioned that to him, and he said, "What led you to rule this for them?" He said, "It is from the game of the sea." He said, "And what tells you that?" He said, "O Commander of the Faithful! By the One in Whose hand my soul is, it is only the sneeze of a fish that it sneezes twice every year."
