عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حَاطِبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ:
اعْتَمَرَ مَعَ عُثْمَانَ فِي رَكْبٍ، فَلَمَّا كَانُوا بِالرَّوْحَاءِ قُدِّمَ إِلَيْهِمْ لَحْمُ طَيْرٍ، قَالَ عُثْمَانُ: " كُلُوا، وَكَرِهَ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ مِنْهُ "، فَقَالَ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ: أَنَأْكُلُ مِمَّا لَسْتَ مِنْهُ آكِلًا ؟ قَالَ: " إِنِّي لَسْتُ فِي ذَلِكُمْ مِثْلَكُمْ، إِنَّمَا صِيدَتْ لِي، وَأُمِيتَتْ بِاسْمِي - أَوْ قَالَ: مِنْ أَجْلِي
Translation
✧ He performed Umrah with Uthman in a caravan. When they were at al-Rawha', bird meat was presented to them. Uthman said, "Eat," but he disliked eating from it. Amr b. al-As said, "Should we eat from what you are not eating?" He said, "I am not in that matter like you. It was only hunted for me and killed on my account—or he said: for my sake."
