عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ:
أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ اسْتَفْتَاهُ فِي لَحْمِ صَيْدٍ أَصَابَهُ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ، فَأَمَرَهُ بِأَكْلِهِ "، قَالَ: فَلَقِيتُ عُمَرَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ بِمَسْأَلَةِ الرَّجُلِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: " مَا أَفْتَيْتَهُ ؟ " قُلْتُ: بِأَكْلِهِ، قَالَ: " وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ عُمَرَ بِيَدِهِ لَوْ أَفْتَيْتَهُ بِغَيْرِ ذَلِكَ لَضَرَبْتُكَ بِالدِّرَّةِ
Translation

machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq, from Maʿmar, from Yaḥyā b. Abī Kathīr, from Abū Salamah, from Abū Hurayrah:
✧ A man from the people of Syria sought his ruling about game meat he had obtained while in ihram, and he ordered him to eat it. He said: Then I met Umar and informed him of the man's question, and he said to him, "What did you rule for him?" I said, "To eat it." He said, "By the One in Whose hand Umar's soul is, if you had ruled for him otherwise, I would have struck you with the whip."
