✧ The virtue of fasting

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ:

لِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَانِ، فَرْحَةٌ عِنْدَ فِطْرِهِ، وَفَرْحَةٌ حِينَ يَأْتِي رَبَّهُ، وَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ

Translation

✧ The fasting person has two joys: a joy when he breaks his fast, and a joy when he meets his Lord. And the breath of a fasting person is more fragrant to God than the scent of musk.
