Translation

✧ The people raided by land and sea, and I was among those who raided by sea. While we were sailing in the sea, we heard a voice saying: O people of the ship, stop and I will inform you. We looked right and left, but saw nothing except the vast sea. Then it called a second time until it called seven times, saying the same. Abu Musa said: When it was the seventh, I stood and said: What do you inform us of? He said: I inform you of a decree God Almighty has decreed upon Himself: that whoever makes himself thirsty for God on a hot day, He will quench his thirst on the Day of Resurrection. Abu Burda said: So Abu Musa would never let a hot day pass without fasting it, and he would writhe in it from thirst.
