✧ The virtue of fasting

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
كُلُّ حَسَنَةٍ يَعْمَلُهَا ابْنُ آدَمَ تُضَاعَفُ عَشْرًا إِلَى سَبْعِمِائَةِ ضِعْفٍ غَيْرَ الصِّيَامِ، هُوَ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ، يَدَعُ شَهْوَتَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِي، وَيَدَعُ طَعَامَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِي فَرْحَتَانِ لِلصَّائِمِ؛ فَرْحَةٌ عِنْدَ فِطْرِهِ، وَفَرْحَةٌ حِينَ يَلْقَى رَبَّهُ ". " وَخُلُوفُ فَمِهِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ، وَالصِّيَامُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ
Translation
✧ Every good deed the son of Adam does is multiplied tenfold to seven hundredfold, except fasting. It is for Me and I reward it. He gives up his desire for My sake, and he gives up his food for My sake. The fasting person has two joys: a joy when he breaks his fast and a joy when he meets his Lord. And the breath of his mouth is more pleasant to God than the scent of musk. Fasting is for Me and I reward it.
