✧ The virtue of fasting

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ يَتْرُكُ شَهْوَتَهُ وَطَعَامَهُ وَشَرَابَهُ مِنْ جَرَّايَ فَالصِّيَامُ لِي، وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ
Translation
✧ By Him in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, the breath of the fasting person is more pleasant to God than the scent of musk. He leaves his desire, his food, and his drink for My sake, so fasting is for Me and I reward it.
