عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ:
فَلَمْ يَكُنْ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ عُمَّالٌ يَعْمَلُونَ بِهَا عَلَى نَخْلِ خَيْبَرَ وَزَرْعِهَا فَدَعَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَهُودَ خَيْبَرَ، فَدَفَعَ إِلَيْهِمْ خَيْبَرَ عَلَى أَنْ يَعْمَلُوهَا عَلَى النِّصْفِ، فَيُؤَدُّوهَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَأَصْحَابِهِ، وَقَالَ لَهُمُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: أُقِرُّكُمْ فِيهَا مَا أَقَرَّكُمُ اللهُ، فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَبْعَثُ عَلَيْهِمْ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ رَوَاحَةَ، فَيَخْرُصُ عَلَيْهِمْ حِينَ يَطِيبُ أَوَّلُ الثَّمَرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُؤْكَلَ مِنْهُ، ثُمَّ يُخَيِّرُ الْيَهُودَ أَنْ يَأْخُذُوهَا بِالْخَرْصِ، أَوْ يَدْفَعُوهَا إِلَيْهِمْ بِذَلِكَ الْخَرْصِ
Translation
✧ The Prophet ﷺ had no workers to work the date palms and crops of Khaybar, so the Prophet ﷺ called the Jews of Khaybar and handed Khaybar over to them on condition that they work it for half, and they would deliver it to the Prophet ﷺ and his companions. The Prophet ﷺ said to them: 'I will keep you in it as long as God keeps you.' The Messenger of God ﷺ used to send ʿAbd Allāh b. Rawāḥah to them, and he would estimate upon them when the first fruit ripened before any of it was eaten, then he would give the Jews the choice to take it according to the estimation, or to hand it over to them according to that estimation.
