✧ He Does Not Pay It to Them If They Are Not Given Anything of the Wealth

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْأَعْمَى وَحْدِي، وَأَخْبَرَنَا مَعَ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ:
انْطَلَقَ أَبُو حَكِيمٍ إِلَى مَرْوَانَ بِزَكَاةِ مَالِهِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ مَرْوَانُ: " أَفِي عَطَاءٍ أَنْتَ ؟ قَالَ: لَا، قَالَ: " فَاذْهَبْ بِزَكَاةِ مَالِكَ؛ فَإِنَّا لَا نَأْخُذُهَا مِنْكَ "، قَالَ: فَفَرَضَ لَهُ مَرْوَانُ مِنَ الْغَدِ
Translation

machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq, from Ibn Jurayj, who said: Abū Saʿīd al-Aʿmā informed me alone, and he informed us together with ʿAṭāʾ, saying:
✧ Abu Hakim went off to Marwan with the zakah of his wealth. Marwan said to him, “Are you on the payroll?” He said, “No.” He said, “Then take away the zakah of your wealth, for we will not take it from you.” He said: So the next day Marwan assigned him a stipend.
