✧ A man who passes by a dead person and does not bury him

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ:
ذُكِرَ لِعُمَرَ امْرَأَةٌ تُوُفِّيَتْ بِالْبَيْدَاءِ، فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهَا وَلَا يَدْفِنُونَهَا، حَتَّى مَرَّ عَلَيْهَا كُلَيْبٌ فَدَفَنَهَا، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو لِكُلَيْبٍ بِهَا خَيْرًا، قَالَ: فَسَأَلَ عُمَرُ عَنْهَا عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، فَقَالَ: لَمْ أَرَهَا، فَقَالَ: " لَوْ رَأَيْتَهَا وَلَمْ تَدْفِنْهَا لَجَعَلْتُكَ نَكَالًا
Translation
✧ A woman who died in the desert was mentioned to 'Umar. People kept passing by her and did not bury her, until Kulayb passed by her and buried her. 'Umar said: I hope for good for Kulayb because of her. He said: 'Umar asked 'Abd Allah b. 'Umar about her, and he said: I did not see her. He said: Had you seen her and not buried her, I would have made you an example.
