✧ The prayer over the child of adultery and the stoned adulterer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ:
لَمَّا رَجَمَ عَلِيٌّ شُرَاحَةَ الْهَمْدَانِيَّةَ جَاءَ أَوْلِيَاؤُهَا فَقَالُوا: كَيْفَ نَصْنَعُ بِهَا ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُمُ: اصْنَعُوا بِهَا مَا تَصْنَعُونَ بِمَوْتَاكُمْ، يَعْنِي غُسْلَهَا وَالصَّلَاةَ عَلَيْهَا وَمَا أَشْبَهَ ذَلِكَ
Translation
✧ When Ali stoned Shuraḥah al-Hamdaniyyah, her relatives came and said: What shall we do with her? He said to them: Do with her what you do with your dead, meaning washing her, praying over her, and the like.
