✧ A Wound That Does Not Stop Bleeding

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ،
دَخَلَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ، وَالْمِسْوَرُ بْنُ مَخْرَمَةَ عَلَى عُمَرَ حِينَ انْصَرَفَا مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَمَا طُعِنَ فَوَجَدَاهُ لَمْ يُصَلِّ الصُّبْحَ فَقَالَا: الصَّلَاةُ، فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ، مَنْ تَرَكَ الصَّلَاةَ فَلَا حَظَّ لَهُ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ، فَتَوَضَّأَ ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَجُرْحُهُ يَثْعَبُ دَمًا
Translation
✧ Ibn 'Abbas and al-Miswar b. Makhrama entered upon 'Umar when they returned from prayer after he had been stabbed, and found that he had not prayed the dawn prayer. They said: The prayer! He said: Yes, whoever abandons the prayer has no share in Islam. So he performed ablution and then prayed while his wound was flowing with blood.
