✧ Whoever misses the khutbah

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ حَمَّادٍ قَالَ:
إِذَا أَدْرَكَ الرَّجُلُ الْإِمَامَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ لَمْ يُسَلِّمْ فَلْيُصَلِّ بِصَلَاتِهِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، هُوَ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الْمُسَافِرِ "، قَالَ الثَّوْرِيُّ: وَالْأَرْبَعُ أَعْجَبُ إِلَيْنَا لِأَنَّهُ قَدْ فَاتَتْهُ الْجُمُعَةُ
Translation
✧ If a man catches the imam on Friday while he is sitting and has not yet said the salam, he should pray according to his prayer, two rak'ahs. He is in the position of a traveler. Al-Thawri said: And four is more preferable to us because he has missed the Friday prayer.
