عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: أَتُصَلِّي الْمَرْأَةُ فِي دُرَّاعَةٍ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، أُخْبِرْتُ أَنَّ الْإِمَاءَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ وَبَعْدَهُ كُنَّ لَا يُصَلِّينَ حَتَّى تَجْعَلَ إِحْدَاهُنَّ إِزَارَهَا عَلَى رَأْسِهَا مُتَقَنِّعَةً، أَوْ خِمَارًا أَوْ خِرْقَةً يُغَيَّبُ فِيهَا رَأْسُهَا
Translation
✧ I said to Ata: May a woman pray in a durra'ah? He said: Yes. I was told that female slaves during the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ and after him would not pray until one of them placed her wrapper on her head as a veil, or a khimar, or a cloth in which her head was concealed.
