عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَطَاءً يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ عُبَيْدَ بْنَ عُمَيْرٍ يَقُولُ: أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ أُصَدِّقُ، فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ يُرِيدُ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ:
كَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَامَ بِالنَّاسِ قِيَامًا شَدِيدًا، يَقُومُ بِالنَّاسِ ثُمَّ يَرْكَعُ، وَيَقُومُ ثُمَّ يَرْكَعُ، وَيَقُومُ ثُمَّ يَرْكَعُ، فَرَكَعَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ ثَلَاثُ رَكَعَاتٍ، يَرْكَعُ الثَّالِثَةَ ثُمَّ يَسْجُدُ، فَلَمْ يَنْصَرِفْ حَتَّى تَجَلَّتِ الشَّمْسُ، وَحَتَّى إِنَّ رِجَالًا يَوْمَئِذٍ لَيُغْشَى عَلَيْهِمْ، حَتَّى إِنَّ سِجَالَ الْمَاءِ لَيُصَبُّ عَلَيْهِمْ مِمَّا قَامَ بِهِمْ، وَيَقُولُ إِذَا رَكَعَ: اللهُ أَكْبَرُ، وَإِذَا رَفَعَ سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَا يَخْسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّهَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ يُخَوِّفُكُمْ بِهِمَا، فَإِذَا كَسَفَهُمَا فَافْزَعُوا إِلَى ذِكْرِ اللهِ حَتَّى يَنْجَلِيَ " وَزِيدَ عَلَى عَطَاءٍ فِي هَذِهِ الْخُطْبَةِ: وَلَكِنَّهُ رُبَّمَا مَاتَ الْخِيَارُ بِأَطْرَافٍ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ فَأَذَاعَتْ بِذَلِكَ الْجِنُّ فَكَانَ لِذَلِكَ الْقَتَرُ
Translation
✧ The sun eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ. He stood with the people for a very long time, standing and then bowing, standing and then bowing, standing and then bowing. He bowed in two rak'ahs, with three bowings in each rak'ah. He bowed the third time and then prostrated. He did not depart until the sun became clear, and until some men that day fainted, such that buckets of water were poured on them because of how long he stood with them. When he bowed he said: 'God is greatest,' and when he raised his head he said: 'God hears those who praise Him.' Then he stood and praised God and extolled Him. Then he said: 'The sun and the moon do not eclipse for the death of anyone or for his life, but they are two signs among the signs of God by which He frightens you. So when they eclipse, hasten to the remembrance of God until it clears.' And it was added on the authority of Ata' in this sermon: 'But it may be that the righteous die in remote parts of the earth, and the jinn spread that, and so there is that darkness.'
