عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ أَبِي الْمِقْدَامِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ قَالَ:
أَصَابَ النَّاسَ سَنَةٌ، وَكَانَ رَجُلٌ فِي بَادِيَةٍ، فَخَرَجَ فَصَلَّى بِأَصْحَابِهِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَاسْتَسْقَى ثُمَّ نَامَ، فَرَأَى فِي الْمَنَامِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَتَاهُ، وَقَالَ: " أَقْرِئْ عُمَرَ السَّلَامَ، وَأَخْبِرْهُ أَنَّ اللهَ قَدِ اسْتَجَابَ لَكُمْ وَكَانَ عُمَرُ قَدْ خَرَجَ فَاسْتَسْقَى أَيْضًا، وَأْمُرْهُ فَلْيُوفِ الْعَهْدَ، وَلْيَشُدَّ الْعَقْدَ، قَالَ: فَانْطَلَقَ الرَّجُلُ حَتَّى أَتَى عُمَرَ، فَقَالَ: اسْتَأْذِنُوا لِرَسُولِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ: فَسَمِعَهُ عُمَرُ، فَقَالَ: مَنْ هَذَا الْمُفْتَرِي عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ؟ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ: لَا تَعْجَلْ عَلَيَّ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، فَأَخْبَرَهُ الْخَبَرَ فَبَكَى عُمَرُ
Translation
✧ The people were afflicted with a year of drought, and there was a man in the desert. He went out and prayed two rak'ahs with his companions and prayed for rain, then slept. In his sleep he saw that the Messenger of God ﷺ came to him and said, 'Convey greetings to Umar and tell him that God has answered you—Umar had also gone out and prayed for rain—and command him to fulfill the covenant and tighten the knot.' He said: The man set out until he came to Umar and said, 'Seek permission for the messenger of the Messenger of God ﷺ.' He said: Umar heard him and said, 'Who is this fabricating lies against the Messenger of God ﷺ?' The man said, 'Do not rush me, O Commander of the Faithful,' and he told him the news, and Umar wept.
