✧ How Many Rak'ahs Is the Witr

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَمَّنْ سَمِعَهُ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ قَالَ:
نص إضافيقُلْتُ لِمِقْسَمٍ: إِنِّي أُوتِرُ بِثَلَاثٍ، ثُمَّ أَخْرُجُ إِلَى الصُّبْحِ خَشْيَةَ أَنْ تَفُوتَنِي الصَّلَاةُ، فَكَرِهَ ذَلِكَ أَنْ يُوتِرَ إِلَّا بِخَمْسٍ أَوْ سَبْعٍ " قُلْتُ: عَمَّنْ هَذَا ؟ قَالَ: عَنِ الثِّقَةِ عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ، وَعَائِشَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ
Translation
✧ Additional text: I said to Miqsam, "I perform witr with three, then I go out to the morning prayer for fear of missing the prayer." He disliked that one should perform witr except with five or seven. I said, "From whom is this?" He said, "From the trustworthy one, from Maymunah and 'A'ishah, from the Prophet ﷺ."
