✧ How Many Rak'ahs Is the Witr

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُصَيْفَةَ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ قَالَ:
كُنْتُ أُصَلِّي خَلْفَ الْمَقَامِ فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ مُقَنَّعٌ فَقَرَأَ السَّبْعَ الطِّوَالَ، ثُمَّ رَكَعَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ انْفَتَلَ فَنَظَرْتُ، فَإِذَا هُوَ عُثْمَانُ
Translation
✧ I was praying behind the Maqam when a veiled man came and recited the seven long surahs, then bowed for two rak'ahs, then turned away. I looked, and it was 'Uthman.
