عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: قَوْمٌ مُسَافِرُونَ، أَمَامَهُمْ مَطَرٌ، يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى دَوَابِّهِمْ ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ، إِنْ شَاءُوا "، قُلْتُ: أَيَمْسَحُونَ بِالتُّرَابِ إِذَا لَمْ يَجِدُوا مَاءً ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ
Translation

✧ I said to Ata: A group of travelers who have rain ahead of them, may they pray on their riding animals? He said: Yes, if they wish. I said: Do they perform tayammum with earth if they find no water? He said: Yes.
