✧ Fasting While Traveling

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ رَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ،
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ وَالْفِطْرِ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فِي السَّفَرِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: أَفْطِرْ " قَالَ: إِنِّي أَقْوَى عَلَى الصَّوْمِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " أَنْتَ أَقْوَى أَمِ اللهُ ؟ إِنَّ اللهَ تَصَدَّقَ بِإِفْطَارِ الصَّائِمِ عَلَى مَرْضَى أُمَّتِي وَمُسَافِرِيهِمْ، أَفَيُحِبُّ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَتَصَدَّقَ عَلَى أَحَدِكُمْ بِصَدَقَةٍ ثُمَّ يَظَلُّ يَرُدُّهَا عَلَيْهِ
Translation
✧ A man asked the Messenger of God ﷺ about prayer and breaking the fast in the month of Ramadan while traveling. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: Break your fast. He said: I am able to fast, O Messenger of God. The Prophet ﷺ said to him: Are you stronger or is God? God gave as charity the breaking of the fast of the fasting person to the sick of my community and its travelers. Would any of you like to give charity to someone and then keep rejecting it back to him?
