✧ A man prays in his house then catches the congregation

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ:
صَلَّيْتُ الْعِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةَ وَأَوْتَرْتُ، ثُمَّ دَخَلْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ وَالْإِمَامُ فِي آخِرِ رَكْعَةٍ، فَذَهَبْتُ أَشْفَعُ، فَلَمْ أَفْرُغْ حَتَّى رَكَعَ الْإِمَامُ، وَرَفَعَ مِنْ آخِرِ رَكْعَةٍ قَالَ: لَا تُعِدْ وَلَكِنْ أَوْتِرْ
Translation
✧ I prayed the later 'Isha' and performed Witr, then I entered the mosque while the imam was in the last rak'ah. I went to make it even, but I did not finish until the imam bowed and rose from the last rak'ah. He said: "Do not repeat it, but perform Witr."
