✧ The rulers who delay the prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ،
أَنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ: إِنِّي لَا آلُوكُمْ عَنِ الْوَقْتِ، فَصَلَّى بِهِمُ الظُّهْرَ، حَسِبْتُهُ قَالَ: حِينَ زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: إِنَّهُ سَتَكُونُ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَرَاءُ يُؤَخِّرُونَ الصَّلَاةَ، فَصَلُّوا الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا، فَإِنْ أَدْرَكْتُمْ مَعَهُمْ فَصَلُّوا
Translation
✧ Ibn Masud said to his companions: I am not falling short with you regarding the time. Then he led them in the noon prayer — I think he said when the sun had passed its zenith. Then he said: There will be rulers over you who delay the prayer. Pray the prayer at its time. If you catch it with them, then pray.
