✧ The imam's shortening of the prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي السَّوْدَاءِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَابِطٍ قَالَ:

قَرَأَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي الْفَجْرِ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى بِسِتِّينَ آيَةً، ثُمَّ قَامَ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ، فَسَمِعَ صَوْتَ صَبِيٍّ، فَقَرَأَ فِيهَا ثَلَاثَ آيَاتٍ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ recited in the dawn prayer in the first rak'ah sixty verses. Then he stood for the second rak'ah and heard the sound of a child, so he recited in it three verses.
