✧ The imam's shortening of the prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ أَوْ أَحَدِهِمَا، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ بِالنَّاسِ فَلْيُخَفِّفْ، فَإِنَّ فِيهِمُ السَّقِيمَ، وَالشَّيْخَ الْكَبِيرَ، وَذَا الْحَاجَةِ
Translation
✧ When one of you prays with the people, he should lighten it, for among them are the sick, the elderly, and the one with a need.
