✧ Forgetfulness in prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: إِنْ صَلَّيْتُ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ فَشَكَكْتُ عُدْتُ ثُمَّ شَكَكْتُ ؟ قَالَ: " فَلَا تَعُدْ قَالَ: فَقُلْتُ: إِنِّي اسْتَيْقَنْتُ أَنِّي صَلَّيْتُ خَمْسَ رَكَعَاتٍ قَالَ: " فَلَا تَعُدْ وَإِنْ صَلَّيْتَ عَشْرَ رَكَعَاتٍ، فَاسْجُدْ سَجْدَتَيِ السَّهْوِ
Translation
✧ I said to ʿAṭāʾ: If I pray an obligatory prayer and then doubt, and I repeat it, then I doubt again? He said: 'Do not repeat.' I said: I am certain that I prayed five rakʿahs. He said: 'Do not repeat, even if you prayed ten rakʿahs. Prostrate the two prostrations of forgetfulness.'
