✧ The prayer of the Prophet ﷺ

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ مَوْلَى ابْنِ أَبِي أَحْمَدَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ:
صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ، فَسَلَّمَ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ، فَقَامَ ذُو الْيَدَيْنِ، فَقَالَ: أَقَصُرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَمْ نَسِيتَ ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " كُلُّ ذَلِكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ " قَالَ: قَدْ كَانَ بَعْضُ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَأَقْبَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَى النَّاسِ فَقَالَ: أَصَدَقَ ذُو الْيَدَيْنِ ؟ فَقَالُوا: نَعَمْ، فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَتَمَّ مَا بَقِيَ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ، ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ بَعْدَ التَّسْلِيمِ
Translation
✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ prayed the 'Asr prayer and said the taslim after two rak'ahs. Dhu al-Yadayn stood up and said: "Has the prayer been shortened, O Messenger of God, or did you forget?" The Prophet ﷺ said: "None of that happened." He said: "Some of that has happened, O Messenger of God." The Prophet ﷺ turned to the people and said: "Has Dhu al-Yadayn spoken the truth?" They said: "Yes." So the Messenger of God ﷺ stood up and completed what remained of the prayer, then prostrated two prostrations while sitting after the taslim.
