✧ The prayer of the Prophet ﷺ

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ:
صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الظُّهْرَ أَوِ الْعَصْرَ فَسَلَّمَ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ، فَخَرَجَ سَرَعَانُ النَّاسِ فَقَالُوا: أَخُفِّفَتْ عَنَّا الصَّلَاةُ ؟ قَالَ ذُو الشِّمَالَيْنِ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَخُفِّفَتِ الصَّلَاةُ ؟ قَالَ: فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " مَا يَقُولُ ذُو الْيَدَيْنِ ؟ " قَالُوا: صَدَقَ قَالَ: فَصَلَّى الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ اللَّتَيْنِ تَرَكَ، ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ بَعْدَمَا سَلَّمَ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ
Translation
✧ The Prophet ﷺ prayed Zuhr or 'Asr and said the taslim after two rak'ahs, then he left. The swift among the people went out and said: "Has the prayer been lightened for us?" Dhu al-Shimalayn said: "O Messenger of God, has the prayer been lightened?" He said: The Prophet ﷺ said: "What does Dhu al-Yadayn say?" They said: "He has spoken the truth." He said: So he prayed the two rak'ahs that he had left, then prostrated two prostrations after the taslim while sitting.
