✧ The prayer of the Prophet ﷺ

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ وَابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَا: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ طَاوُسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ صَلَّى بَعْضَ الْأَرْبَعِ فَسَلَّمَ فِي سَجْدَتَيْنِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ ذُو الْيَدَيْنِ: أَنَسِيتَ أَمْ خَفَّفْتَ عَنَّا يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ ؟ قَالَ: " أَوَفَعَلْتُ ؟ " قَالُوا: نَعَمْ، فَعَادَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ
Translation
✧ The Prophet ﷺ prayed part of a four-rak'ah prayer and said the taslim after two prostrations. Dhu al-Yadayn said to him: "Did you forget, or have you lightened the prayer for us, O Prophet of God?" He said: "Did I do that?" They said: "Yes." So he returned and prayed two rak'ahs, then prostrated two prostrations while sitting.
